Impressions: The Rediscovery of Henriette Bosmans

  • Resonance Cafe 5175A Park Ave Montreal Canada (map)

We present music by Henriette Bosmans, a magnificent 20th century Dutch composer. Her life was complex with multifaceted elements: her drive to become an accomplished musician, her struggle to survive the Nazi regime, and her challenges as a bisexual woman in a time of societal denial and discrimination. Independently of this, she composed sublime music that stands alone as work of exceptional quality, beauty, and significance. We believe her music deserves a place among standard repertoire, and will release an album of her works for cello and piano in conjunction with live performances.
